2012 Rules & Regulations
- The weight-loss competition will begin Saturday, January 14, 2012 and run until Wednesday March 28, 2012. Sign up will be held at the Fennimore High School during the Health and Wellness Fair. Those not available to attend may sign up at Fennimore Fitness January 11-13, 2012.
- The cost to participate is $20.
- This is an individual competition, but we encourage you to get as many people you can from your place of employment to participate. We also offer a Business Competition, so get 2 or more people from your business involved and we can also put you into the business competition. A prize will be awarded to the business group with the biggest percentage of weight loss.
- New this year will be an optional group weight control session offered to all paid participants. Participants will receive weekly encouragement and information provided by Registered Dietitian, Chris Swan and exercise advice from a Fennimore Fitness personal trainer. Group sessions will be offered each Wednesday night from Jan 18 - March 21. Classes will be structured as follows 5 - 5:30 p.m. weigh-in or on your own anytime; 5:30-6:30 p.m. Chris Swan/Wellness Coach; 6:30 - 7 pm. group exercise with a staff member from Fennimore Fitness. All sessions held at Fennimore Memorial building.
- Weigh-ins: initial sign up and weigh-in will be Jan 14, at the Health and Wellness Fair from 9 am to 1 pm or at Fennimore Fitness between January 11-13, 2012 or by making special arrangements with Brent Sheckler 608-822-4066.
- Weekly weigh-in held every Wednesday at Fennimore Memorial building January 18 - March 21 or anytime at Fennimore Fitness. There will be 10 prize-eligible weigh-ins. The March 28th weigh in will determine the overall winner.
- Log books at Fennimore Fitness will be collected on Thursday mornings prior to 6:00 a.m. to calculate weigh-in winners. You can weigh in and log your weight on the Tuesday before as well.
- For those concerned with privacy, each contestant will be referenced via a number with no name attached to it. You will be given that number at the initial weigh-in on January 14 or at Fennimore Fitness Jan 11-13.
- Contestants will have the ability to win prizes as long as they weigh in that week.
- Scoring is based on percentage of weight loss and not total pounds. The person with the largest percentage of weight loss on March 28 will be crowned Fennimore's Biggest Loser.
- All weekly statistics will be logged on http://www.getfitfennimore.com/. You can find everything here.
The purpose of this contest is to support your efforts to follow a healthy weight-loss diet and exercise program and establish patterns that you can continue long after the contest is over. The contest is not intended to promote rapid weight loss.
